Obituary of Gerard R St. Laurent

"Wales, Gerard R. "the Cat" St. Laurent, 77, died Monday, May 18, 2009 in Mary Lane Hospital. Born in Springfield, January 29, 1932, he was the son of the late Richard and Antoinette (Blanchette) St. Laurent. He has lived in Wales over the past 50 years, and was the owner of St. Laurent & Sons Builders prior to his retirement. A proud veteran, Gerry served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War and was the former commander of the VFW in Wales. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 54 years, Jacqueline (Tetreault) St. Laurent, along with his 6 children, Mark and his wife Tammy of Ware, Linda St. Laurent of Sturbridge, Lee, Gerald (Jay), Dianne and Scott St. Laurent all of Wales. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, Kevin, Nicholas, Ashley, Amber, Michael, Jacob and Alexis St. Laurent, along with his mother in law Rita Tetreault of Brimfield. He also leaves two brother in laws, Benoit Bouffard of Springfield, Roger Tetreault and his wife Rose of Brimfield and a sister in law, Jackie Stanek of Springfield along with several loving nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, a son Roger preceded him in death, as well as his siblings, Robert St. Laurent and Paula Bouffard. A memorial mass will be said in his honor on Friday May 22, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield, followed by burial in Wales #4 Cemetery.
