Obituary of Jeanne E. Powers

"Jeanne E. (Guilbault) Fountain Powers, 77, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 surrounded by her family. Born in Holyoke, March 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Eva Guilbault. Jeanne lived for many years in Easthampton and Chicopee before moving to S. Hadley in 2004. She worked for many years for Springfield Photo Mount and later for Deluxe Check Printing. A communicant of St. Ann's Church in Chicopee, she was also an avid volunteer and crafter. She made breast cancer pillows and teddy bears for the police and firefighters. Jeanne was a member of the S. Hadley Council on Aging, Friends of the Elderly and Lathrop Village Social Club. She will be deeply missed by her children Kenneth P. Fountain and his wife Judith of Westhampton, Linda Bacon and her husband Allan of Belchertown, and Tina LaFlam and her husband Ricky of Sunrise, FL, along with her siblings Alexina Schwalm of S. Hadley, Rita Mazzolini of Clovis, NM, and Ernest Guilbault of Chicopee. She also leaves her 7 precious grandchildren, Laura, Leslie, Eric, Alene, Mary Sharie and Samantha along with 3 great grandchildren Andrew, Isabella and Ryan. She will also be missed by her special pet Bichon, Lilly. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 25 at 9:30 a.m. at the Beers & Story S. Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., (Rte. 116) followed by burial in Brookside Cemetery in Easthampton. Calling hours are Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. The family requests that donations may be made in her memory to Lathrop Village Social Club, 69 Lathrop St., S. Hadley, MA 01075. "
