Obituary of Sandra J. Doyle

"Palmer, Sandra J. (Gurski) Doyle, 72, of Pearl St., died April 21, at her home with her family by her side. Born in Enfield, MA, June 9, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Glenna (Bryan) Gurski. A lifelong resident of Palmer, she spent some of her working life at the former Haley's Smokehouse in Palmer. She later worked at Monson Developmental Center and retired in 1996. Following her retirement, she worked part time in the canteen there. Some of the joys of her life were the Quabbin and her precious grandchildren. Her home was open to all. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 54 years, Edward W. Doyle, along with their 6 children David K., Dennis S., Sharon M. and Diane M. all of Palmer and Daniel P., of Cape Canaveral, FL and Douglas W. of New Braintree. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, a son Edward died in 1984, and her siblings, Theodore Gurski, Marlene Garnett, and Jacqueline Eliason preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 25 at 10:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by burial in Oak Knoll Cemetery.
