Obituary of Eugene Joseph LeCours

"Eugene J. LeCours, 64, of Hospital Rd. died suddenly on May 3 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in Hardwick, VT, April 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Eloi and Rosalie (Castonguay) LeCours. He moved to Monson at a young age and lived there the remainder of his life. For many years he was a master mechanic for Warner Brothers Construction in Sunderland, and was a member of the operating engineers Union Local 98. He had previously worked for Sibley Heating in Three Rivers. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, the former Marilyn Lusty, along with his three sons, Daniel J. of Florida, Robert and his wife Susan of Townshend, VT, and Kenneth and his wife Amie of Palmer. He also leaves two brothers Joseph of Belchertown and Gabriel of Monson, two sisters Marie Anderson of Albany, Oregon, and Cecile Watson of Palmer, and his three grandsons Rob, Kyle, and Matthew, four granddaughters Renee, Jessica, Rebecca and Sarah, and his great granddaughter Angelique. He was waiting expectantly for a new grandchild, Baby Landers, who will be born this month. Gene is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and Jean. There will be a service of remembrance on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Monson. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Donations may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104."
