Obituary of Cecile A. Burden

" Cecile A. (Beaudreau) Burden, 82, of Cyran St, died April 13 at her son’s home. Born in Springfield, Oct. 20, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Aime and Emma (D’Anjou) Beaudreau. Cecile lived in Springfield for many years, and lived in Belchertown from 1980 until 2001, when she relocated to Chicopee. She was a claims manager for Commercial Union Insurance Company in Springfield for 17 years before retiring. She was formerly a communicant of St. Francis Church in Belchertown, and a member of the Disabled American Veteran’s Auxiliary, and enjoyed painting and sewing. She was also a former member of St. Jean the Baptist in Ludlow. Mrs. Burden was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, William C. Burden in 2000. She will be missed by her devoted children, two sons Thomas W. and his wife, Virginia, of Potomoc Falls, VA, and David A. and his wife, Patricia, with whom she lived, her two daughters Patricia A. Breault and her husband, Dennis, of Randolph, VT, and Laura M. Dark of Pawtucket, RI. She also leaves a brother Richard Beaudreau of Mesa, AZ, and a sister Marguarite Rocray of Springfield. Cecile also leaves her 12 cherished grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Albert Beaudreau. Funeral services will be Sat. at 8:00 a.m. from the Beers and Story S. Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St, (Rte. 116) followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church, 52 College St, Chicopee. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield. Calling hours will be Friday from 2:00- 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice, 50 Maple Street, Springfield, 01102. "
