Obituary of Emily A Griswold

"Palmer-On March 6th, our beloved mother, Emily A. (Zebrowski) Griswold, entered into God's waiting arms, surrounded by her loving family. She worked along side her husband Roger for 35 years in their business at Griswold's Garage and Glass Shop, with their sons William and Jeff. Emily was born in Thorndike on September 24, 1923, daughter of the late Eustacky and Ana (Robak) Zebrowksi. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years in March of 2008 along with 6 sisters and 3 brothers. She leaves behind her devoted children; Kathleen (Kathy) Pelletier and her husband Russell, her son William (Bill) Griswold and his wife Charlann, her son Jeffrey Griswold and his wife Susan, and her daughter Claudia Shields along with 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She also leaves behind to mourn her loss, her sister Theresa Kulig and her brothers Edward Zebrowksi and William Ziobrowski. Our mother was the most unselfish, loving person who always, always put herself last. Mom enjoyed many things, cooking, gardening, and crafts of any kind. She would take a recipe and change it and make it better. Whatever flowers she planted always grew to be the most beautiful and there wasn't a craft she couldn't do. She could make something beautiful out of nothing. She had her own craft shop called Emily's Craft Shack. Emily cared for her family in the same way. She was always there if you needed her. There will never be a day that she wont' be thought of and missed. A special thank you to everyone who gave above and beyond the call of duty to help keep our mom at home, where she wanted to be. Nancy Fletcher, Debbie Kukla, Dawn Des Marais, Gail Doss, Sue Koss, and Kassi Walker. We couldn't have done it without you. A special thanks to the VNA/Hospice, especially Jane and Marcy for everything. Above all else a "special" thank you from the bottom of our heart to Linda Scoonover (the most wonderful doctor we have ever had the privilege to know). Her compassion and caring sustained us through the last years. She was always there when we needed her. God Bless You! Mom-"Heaven will be a more beautiful place because you are there". Dad and Rusty and Jenny are waiting for you. Rest in Peace, You are more beautiful than any flower!!! Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home Friday at 9:00 a.m. to process to St. Cecelia's Church in Wilbraham for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
