Obituary of Daniel V. Fogarty

"Palmer - Daniel V. Fogarty, III, 59, died on March 1, 2009 at UMASS Memorial Hospital. He was born November 21, 1949 in North Brookfield, MA, son of Daniel V. Fogarty Jr. and Eileen (Fogarty) Brown. He was raised in Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School in 1967. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of AMVETS Post 74 in Three Rivers. Daniel worked as a Policeman for City of Springfield for 21 years, retiring in 1994. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Rachel M. Retchin and her husband Jonathan and their two children, Tyler and Jackson, of East Longmeadow. His aunt, Frances Fogarty of Palmer, and nephews Sean and Aiden Fogarty of Palmer and ex-wife, Elizabeth (Scovera) Zglobicki, of Rutland, MA, also survive him. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his aunt, Mary Fogarty. Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas Church on Friday, March 6 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery. Callling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St. Memorial contributions in Daniel's name may be made to MA Special Olympics,. "
