Obituary of Eunice Officer

"Belchertown- Eunice (VanDerwerken) Officer, 88 of Chauncey Walker St., died March 22, 2004 at the Center for Extended Care at Amherst. Born May 21, 1915 in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Pearl B. (Newton) VanDerwerken. Eunice graduated from Commerce High School and furthered her education by taking night business courses. During WWII, she worked for Martin Lumber Company as a secretary and order clerk. She was later employed for Bobbin Hollow Farm in Amherst as a secretary before her retirement. Eunice was predeceased by her husband John B. in 1995. She is survived by her children, Richard of New Hampshire, Bruce and his wife Janet of Belchertown, and Marjorie Lindquist of Westbridge B.C. She also leaves 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Quabbin Park Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. . "
