Obituary of Julia Virginia Irvine

"Julia V. (Hailman) Irvine, 94, died March 17, 2004 at Quaboag on the Common Nursing Home. Mrs. Irvine was born August 2, 1909 in Mechanicsburg, PA, the daughter of John Hailman and Mabel (Rhineman) Hailman. Mrs. Irvine was a founding member of the Mechanicsburg Public Library and from 1961 volunteered there until she moved to Brimfield MA in 1979. She then worked for the Brimfield Public Library. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Brimfield where she was active in the Ladies Benevolent Society. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and was an avid reader. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Herman D. Irvine on May 4, 1980. She is survived by her daughter Ms. Virginia A. Irvine of Brimfield MA, her sister Mrs. Jean C. Bucher of Boiling Springs, PA, her niece Mrs. Julia C. Books of Mechanicsburg PA and nephew Mr. Thomas Bucher, Jr. of Boiling Springs PA. In accordance with Mrs. Irvine’s wishes there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Brimfield Public Library, Brimfield, MA 01010, the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library, 16 North Walnut St., Mechanicsburg PA 17055 or the First Congregational Church of Brimfield, P.O. Box 203, Brimfield MA 01010."
