I met Estelle as my aunt's roommate last fall. Oh, the laughs we had; she was so aware of the ironies of life. She was the perfect foil to my aunt's deafness and sober demeanor! We talked first about books and more recently about Tanner. I know we enjoyed our over-the-shoulder conversations during my visits to Cabot Street. I will miss this lady!

I met Estelle in her days at Columbia U.'s School of Library Service in the irreverent and hopeful '60's. Later I was thrilled to read one of her wonderful essays on photography - which is still in my clutterabilia file. Heartfelt condolences to her partner, sister and relatives. She was surely one of a kind. I am sorry we lost touch except in fond memories.

As President of PAWS of Granby and in behalf of our members we send our condolence to Elizabeth in the loss of her long time friend and companion. We also want to remember Estelle for all the love and support she gave to the stray animals in our care, and thank Elizabeth and Estelle for giving Tanner such a wonderful home.
