Obituary of Ralph E. Goodreau

"Belchertown – Ralph E. Goodreau, 86, of Cold Spring Rd., died on February 5, 2009 at Quaboag on the Common Nursing home. Born May 19, 1922 in Palmer, son of the late William and Rose (St. John) Goodreau. Mr. Goodreau was a WWII Veteran who served in the US Army. He was raised in Palmer and has resided in Belchertown for the last 45 years. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 98 since 1951 and a lifetime member of the Swift River Sportsman's Club. Retiring in 1983, he worked as a master mechanic for Bruschi Brothers Inc. for many years. He was predeceased by his wife Doris M. (Dupre) in 2008 and by a grandson Brad Landry in 2006. He is survived by three children David Goodreau and Mary Giordano of Brimfield, Barry Goodreau and Robin McKee of Three Rivers and Margo Vageline and Will of Belchertown. He also leaves two sisters Gertrude Zisk and Irene Gilman of Palmer, seven grandchildren Eric, Barry, Jr., Jennifer, Kristin, Heather, Matt and Kristy and six great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. "
