Obituary of Charles L. Hood

"Palmer, Charles L. Hood, Jr., 65, was born in Springfield August 29, 1943 and passed away January 7, 2009. Chuck was raised in Springfield, son of the late Charles L. and Frances (Henning) Hood. His wife, soul mate and best friend, Kathy died in October 2008. He was Co-founder of Dream Catchers in Palmer and was an avid racing fan and sponsor of Car #15 at Stafford Speedway. Chuck also enjoyed hockey, proudly sponsoring the Springfield Falcons for the past ten years. He will be eternally loved and cherished by his daughter Kelley and her husband Eillis Poulopoulos and their daughters Paige, Kaitlen and Samantha, along with his son Buddy Hood and his children Chad, Elycia and Olivia. He is also survived by his sisters Cathy Chamberlain and her husband Paul, and Lorraine Hutchinson of Florida, sisters in laws, Barbara (Bunny) Hood of Agawam, and Patricia Gately and her husband Ken of Westfield, brother in law Barry O'Nell and his wife Dorothy of Old Saybrook, CT, and his mother in law Sylvia O'Nell of Palmer. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. Chuck was also preceded in death by his brother Lenny Hood. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly encourages donations be made in Chuck's memory to the D'Amour Cancer Center, BHF 280 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01199. "
