Obituary of Pamela Ruth Ring

" Pamela, R. (Baldyga) Ring, 46, of Church St, died suddenly on Saturday at Bay State Medical Center. Born in Palmer, April 9, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Marjorie (Shortsleeve) Baldyga, who lived in the Palmer area all of their lives. Pam grew up in the Thorndike seciton of Palmer and lived in Ware for 10 years at the beginning of her married life, before returning to Thorndike. She was a caregiver for the disabled and has worked for the Department of Mental Retardation since 1981. Most recently she was caring for a special friend, Roger Sawyer who lived with the Ring family. Pam loved gardening, but it was more by proxy that she enjoyed it, as her husband Fran was always the one with the gardening chore. She had strong feelings about quality of her family's food and therefore belonged to the Brookfield Food Coop and did most of her shopping at Bread & Circus. She loved her granddaughters and was very involved in their upbringing. She recently took up sewing to assist at her granddaughter Natalie's school with some of their projects. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 28 years, Francis M. Ring, Sr., along with her three sons, Francis M., Jr., Daniel and Justin all of Thorndike. She also leaves her two precious granddaughters, Natalie Lynn Ring and Alexis Marie Ring, along with her two sisters, Rebecca Shorette and her husband Gary of Monson, and Maryann Baldyga of Belchertown. Pam is also survived by two nieces, Angela Shorette and Gracie Ziobrowski, and a nephew, Nathan Shorette. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, November 20 at 12:00 noon at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 10:00-12:00 p.m. preceding the service. The family requests that donations be made in her memory to Francis Ring, Sr, c/o the funeral home, for the benefit of her grandchildren. "
