Obituary of William J. Mullen

"William J. "Jimmy" Mullen, Sr., 89, died Sunday, December 7 at an area hospice care facility. Born in Palmer, March 16, 1919, he was the son of the late William J. and Matilda (Adams) Mullen. A lifelong resident, he ran several trucking companies, the last of which was Tri-County Express in Palmer. He retired in 1984 after 49 years. His wife Priscilla (Cady) died in 1976. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Thorndike. He will be greatly missed by his son William, Jr. and his wife Donna of Palmer along with a grandson Michael of Palmer and his fiancé Sarah LeFrancois of Attleboro. Besides his parents and wife, a son David W. Mullen preceded him in death (1982). A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 22 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
