Obituary of Ruth Pauline Langevin

" Ruth P. (Shoales) Langevin, 93, of Old Boston Rd. passed away Aug. 28, 2003 at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell,MA with her family by her side. Born in Killingly,CT on May 2, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Louis E. and Eva B. (Hutchins) Shoales. Ruth has lived in Palmer since 1950, previously residing in Southbridge. After raising her three children, she later worked at Wing Memorial Hospital as a cook. She loved crafts, ceramics, knitting, and gardening on her family farm but above all her family was Ruth’s true joy in life. She was also very proud of being a 10th direct descendent of Roger Williams. Mrs. Langevin was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Herman R. Langevin in 1970. She will be greatly missed by her three children, Herman and his wife Carrie Langevin of Palmer, Shirley and her husband Emery LaCoste of Three Rivers, and Dolores and her husband Bob Trask of Tyngsboro,MA. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who she was lovingly known to as “Nana”. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a brother Ralph M. Shoales and sister Bernice Shoales. Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday from Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in St. George’s Cemetery in Southbridge. Calling hours will be held Tuedsay from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
