Obituary of Arthur Lionel Morrissette

" Arthur L. Morrissette, 62, of Federal St., passed away August 28, 2003 at Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA. Born in Chicopee, MA on June 2, 1941, he is the son of Marcelle (St. Cry) of Granby and the late Lionel A. Morrissette. Arthur was raised in Chicopee and was a graduate of Chicopee Vocational High School. He lived in Chicopee for most of his life before moving to Belchertown in 1991. Prior to his illness, Arthur was a master mechanic at the former Technicarbon in Springfield where he worked for many years. He previously worked as a supervisor for A.G. Spaulding. He was an active member of the Organ Transplant Foundation. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he also enjoyed his hobby of taxidermy. He will be sadly missed by many, especially; his mother Marcelle, his wife of 43 years, Barbara (Giguere) Morrissette, along with their 6 children, Arthur J. of Ware, Lee D. of Ludlow, Donna L. Voisine, Christopher J. and Melissa C. Morrissette all of Belchertown and Jennifer K. Morrissette of Chicopee. He also leaves 6 brothers and sisters, Raymond of Granby, Roger of NH, Theresa Boisenault of S. Hadley, Linda Dugree of Chicopee, Veronica Mutti of Springfield, and Paul of Granby. He was the beloved grandfather of eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Calling hours for Mr. Morrissette will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. A Funeral service will follow calling hours at 7:00pm in the funeral home.
