Obituary of Helen F. Chrobak

"Palmer- Helen F. (Kowalczyk) Chrobak, 84, of Taft St., passed away peacefully on November 5, 2008. Born in Palmer, MA on March 28, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Antoni and Camilla (Zyskowski) Kowalczyk. She worked for years at the superintendent's office at Palmer High School. Helen loved spending time with her family, and in her leisure she enjoyed reading, sewing and making Christmas ornaments. She will be missed by her beloved husband of 59 years Albin Chrobak and three children Judith Chrobak-Mercier of Palmer, Kevin Chrobak and his wife Laurie Frazer of Greenfield and Lynne Chrobak-Lavinio and her husband Brian of Pittsfield. She also leaves a sister Stella Guzek of Chicopee, two brothers Chester Kowalczyk of Chicopee and Edward Kowalczyk of Three Rivers, three grandchildren Adrienne Mercier and her boyfriend Jeffrey Ashline, Brian Lavinio, Jr. and Connor Lavinio and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four siblings Joseph Kowalczyk, Stanley Kowalczyk, Jennie Pietras and Alexander Kowalczyk. The family of Helen wishes to extend thanks to the employees of the Palmer Dialysis Center for the care of their mother over the last two years. Calling hours are omitted and the services are at the convenience of the family. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
