Obituary of Tobias Nathan Jarvis

"Belchertown – Tobias "Toby" Nathan Jarvis, 27, passed away tragically on Friday, September 5, 2008. He was born in Springfield, MA on May 14, 1981 and resided in Belchertown and most recently South Hadley. He is the beloved son of Richard L. and Karen (Shute) Jarvis of Belchertown. Toby graduated from Belchertown high School in 1999 and received the Accounting & Technology Award. He attended Western New England College and worked at Big Y Foods in Amherst during high school and college. He was employed at Oncore Manufacturing in Springfield for the past several years. Toby loved playing and watching all sports, especially college basketball. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and had an extensive collection. He loved being outdoors and around friends and family, enjoyed mountain biking, fishing, camping, and always looked forward to the traditional vacations to Cape Cod with his extended family. He had a very animated and descriptive way of telling stories that would captivate everyone around him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and would always have the entire room smiling and laughing for hours. He was a thoughtful, respectful, hard working, loving, loyal, an exceptional young man, loving son and devoted brother, and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Besides his caring parents, Toby leaves behind his loving brother Daniel A. Jarvis and his girlfriend Michelle Rizk of Westfield, his loving grandmother Gloria Shute and grandfather Leonard Jarvis both of Granby; his uncles and aunts; Bob and Virginia Shute of Ludlow, Mark and Fran Shute of Southampton, Brian and Jayna Shute of Easthampton, Linc and Barbara White of Granby and Robert Jarvis of South Hadley; his cousins Ruth and fiancé Dan Poirier, Derek, Ian, Lindsey, Jason, Ashley, Jamie, Darcy, Indira, Joanna, Danielle, Kaylee, Emily and all his friends and coworkers. He was predeceased by his grandfather Ben Shute, grandmother Eunice Jarvis and his aunt Pamela Hass. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-7:30 pm followed by a Service of Remembrance at 7:30pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Burial will be privately held for the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Toby's memory to a charity of one's choice. "
