Obituary of Michael E. Polchlopek

"Granby - Michael E. Polchlopek, 86, died with family by his side on March 22, 2012 at Baystate Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary (Rosinski) Polchlopek, daughter Ann Marie Sullivan and husband John, son Michael Frank Polchlopek, son Stephen John Polchlopek and wife Cheryl, daughter Janice Rose Polchlopek and husband Robert Flynn and grandchildren Jennifer, Meaghan and Andrew. He was born in South Hadley to Polish immigrants, Michael J. and Caroline (Filar) Puhopek on February 1, 1926. Michael built the home in Granby that he resided in for the last 57 years. Employed by the Uniroyal Tire Company for 33 years as a mill division foreman, retiring from Dual Temp. He enjoyed many years of a fulfilling retirement spent with his wife Mary. He was a loving husband, father and loyal friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 27th from 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. S. Hadley. Follow by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow in West Cemetery. Donations may be made to Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104. "
