Obituary of Louis T. Rock

"Palmer- Louis T. Rock, Jr., 76, of Rondeau St. passed away May 22, 2008 at Wing Memorial Hospital. Born July 10, 1931 in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of the late Louis T. Sr. and Antoinette (Duteau) Rock. Louis has lived most of his life in Thorndike, Three Rivers and Palmer and served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956. He was a machinist at Jarvis & Jarvis for 20 years and a member of AMVETS post 74 as well as the Knights of Columbus. Louis was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed horseshoes, pitch, and cribbage and played in many leagues. He was a member of St. Anne's Church. Louie had a second chance at life 22 years ago after receiving his heart transplant. He was predeceased by his wife Lucille (Barbeau) in 2005 and his son Gary in 2003. Louie will be greatly missed by his children, Dennis of Three Rivers, Donald and his wife Grace Rock of Ludlow, Diane and her husband David Fijal with whom he lived. He also leaves a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Rock of Bondsville, a sister Adeline Dempsey of Reading, MA, and grandchildren, Brandon, Shala and Nick Rock, and Melissa and Jennifer Fijal. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home Monday at 9:00 a.m. to process to St. Anne's Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Anne's Church or the Kidney Foundation. "
