Obituary of George W. Garrow

"Ludlow-George W. Garrow, 83, of Center St., passed away March 28, 2008 at Wingate at South Hadley. Born in Ludlow on August 8, 1924, he was the son of the late Wallace W. and Evangeline H. (Boulia) Garrow. George was a life long resident of Ludlow and served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years as a security guard at Heat Bath and took much enjoyment in the outdoors while gardening and fishing. George is survived by a brother Wilfred and his wife Deborah of Belchertown, a brother Leo and his wife Jean of Chicopee, and a sister Beatrice Butler of Hadley along with many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and his wife Barbara and Raymond and his wife Jane Garrow as well as a brother-in-law Robert Butler. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Committal prayers and burial will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
