Obituary of Donald A. Genereux

" Donald A. Genereux, Sr., 73, of Chauncey Walker St., passed away February 29, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. Born September 16, 1934, in Holyoke, MA, he was the son of the late George and Regina (Perreault) Genereux. He has lived in Belchertown for 35 years and previously lived in Holyoke. He served his country in the Marines during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 239 in Belchertown. Donald retired in 1998, after working for 20 years as a truck driver for the Union Teamsters Local 404. Following his retirement he worked for Hulmes Transportation for 7 seven years. Mr. Genereux was a communicant of St. Francis Church and enjoyed hunting with his sons and visits to his daughter's home in Florida. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 54 years Frances E. (Wilson) Genereux and five children Regina Crouss and her husband Randall of Marco Island, FL, Donald Jr., and his wife Karen of Belchertown, Michael and his wife Karen of Belchertown, John and his wife Alice of Monson and Paul and his wife Kim of Belchertown. He also leaves a sister Anita Cote of Belchertown, fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Donald was predeceased by a son David Genereux in 1990. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 5 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Massachusetts Memorial Veterans' Cemetery in Agawam. Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home was entrusted with the services.
