Obituary of Thomas R. Scrivner

"Thomas R. Scrivner, Sr., 78, of Monson passed into the Lord's arms surrounded by his loving family on Monday February 4. Born July 24, 1929 in Irvine, KY, he was the son of the late Anna and Roy Scrivner. He met his wife Carolyn and raised his family in Springfield, Ohio where he worked as a manufacturer's sales representative traveling extensively for many years. In 1970 he became Vice-President of Air Rake Manufacturing Co. and moved his family to West Springfield, MA. He also lived in Fort Myers, Florida and for the past three years in Monson. He served his country as a Yeoman First Class in the Navy. He loved to play golf as well as watching tournaments on television. We are sure he has already made a tee time in heaven. A deep love for family, he will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn (Umble) Scrivner, his children Thomas, II and his wife Sara , Alan and his wife Suzanne Boniface, and Rebecca Coderre and her husband Dan, along with his grandchildren Adam and Sam Scrivner and Erin Hand. He also leaves a sister Dorothy J. Baker and a brother James C. Scrivner and his sister-in-law Mary K. Scrivner all of Fort Myers, Florida. He was predeceased by his loving sister Nora Shoemaker of Louisville, Kentucky. He also leaves many loving nieces and nephews. Private services with military honors have been entrusted to the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home.
