Obituary of Norma M. Russis

" Norma M. (Harrington) Russis, 70, of Main St. in the Thorndike section of Palmer died Monday in Bay State Medical Center. Born in West Warren July 4, 1932, she grew up in West Warren and has lived in Thorndike since 1957. She was a former member of the Federated Church of West Warren and had worked for Wright’s for many years. She also worked at Diamond National and as a crossing guard at Thorndike Grammar School. After retiring, she spent her time raising her three grandchildren, serving as a cub scout den mother, and was proud to be the grandmother of two grandsons who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Mrs. Russis is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles E. Russis, Sr., a son, Charles Russis, Jr. of Easthampton, 2 sisters June Lenkarski of Ware and Ellen McNeal of Santa Maria, California. She also leaves her wonderful grandchildren, Charles W., Randy and Rebecca Russis and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by burial in Four Corners Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 2:00—4:00 & 7:00—9:00 p.m. "
