Obituary of Madeleine Schofield

" Madeleine “Maddy” R. Perry Schofield, 52, of Quaboag Valley Coop, died Monday of ovarian cancer. Born in Southbridge, Dec. 2, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Rita L. (Potvin) Cloutier. Maddy grew up in Southbridge and Sturbridge and was a 1968 graduate of Tantasqua High School. She worked at the former American Optical in Southbridge for 15 years. She was most recently the head of customer service at Valmont Inc. in Ludlow. She has worked for the company for 11 years. Maddy was a devoted family person and an avid Patriots fan. In addition, she was a great cook, collected Beanie Babies and enjoyed NASCAR racing. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 10 years, Randy E. Schofield, her son Marc Perry, her step son Joshua Griswold, all of She is also survived by a stepson Aaron Schofield, and a stepdaughter Melissa Schofield, both of Danforth, ME. She also leaves a sister and brother in law, Lucille and Ronald Ravenelle, of Sturbridge, with whom she was very close. Maddy’s life will be celebrated at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home with calling hours on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Her services will continue on Thursday with a service of remembrance at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
