Obituary of Ralph I. Stanton

" Ralph Stanton, Sr, 76, of Haynes Hill Rd. died Wednesday, April 17 at Harrington Memorial Hospital. He was Born in Palmer, April 3, 1926. He was the son of the late Louis and Grace (Bradway) Stanton. He grew up on the family farm in Brimfield and lived there most of his life. He worked at Rathbone Corp. in Palmer for 15 years, before retiring in 1972. He had worked previously for the Brimfield Highway Dept. Ralph loved gardening and had a green thumb. He also raised bees and made maple syrup. He is survived by his wife, of 51 years, the former Nancy Coolbroth . He also leaves 6 daughters Sandra Stanton and Jacqueline Stanton at home, Margery Wilburn of Germantown, MD, Prudence Neilsen of Warren, Donna Stanton of Springfield, and Janet Arborio of Bristol,CT, and 4 sons, Charles and James at home, Ralph, Jr. of Warren, and William of Holland. He was predeceased by a daughter Sheryl Ann (1958). He also leaves 1 sister, Mary Stanton and 2 brothers Lyman, Sr., and Richard all of Brimfield. He was predeceased by 2 brothers John formerly of Brimfield and George formerly of Monson. Ralph also leaves 9 grandchildren and 1 great grand son. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by burial in Brimfield Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Please make donations in his memory to The American Cancer Society. "
