Obituary of Kenneth H. Main

"Belchertown, Kenneth H. Main, 84, of Chauncey Walker St., died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Wingate at Wilbraham. Born in Pelham, November 30, 1922, he was the son of the late Harold C. and Ruth (Braman) Main and has lived in Belchertown since 1953. Ken worked as a custodian in the Amherst School System for many years before retiring in 1984. He had previously been employed for 30 years at the former CF&I in Palmer. He was a member of and former deacon of the Belchertown Congregational Church, a 50 year member of the Thomas Lodge of Masons in Palmer and a Past Master. He was also a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and was active in the Belchertown Senior Center. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 22 years, Dorothy (Holcomb) Reece Main, his two daughters Lisa Carbille of Rutland, MA and Kimberlee McDonald of Marblehead, MA along with a brother Howard and his wife Beverly of Belchertown and two grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He also leaves his stepchildren, Raymond Reece of Sedona, AZ, Donald Reece of Coronado, CA, and Linda Herbert of Chicopee and stepdaughter in law Patricia Reece of Agawam, along with 13 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Violet (Webster) Main in 1983, a grandson Todd Ferro in 2006 and a stepson Kenneth Reece in 2003. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 15 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hope United Methodist Church. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
