Obituary of Margaret Coache

" Margaret (Lyons) Coache, 94, of Prospect St. in Palmer died March 26, 2002 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Born in Caltra, Ireland, December 17, 1907, Mrs. Coache courageously journeyed to America at the age of 17. She lived for a time at Ellis Island and Brooklyn, NY where she met her future husband Leo Coache. Leo died in 1987, after 57 years of marriage. During her married life, Margaret worked at the former Colorado Fuel & Iron Corp. in Palmer for over 29 years, until her retirement in 1972. She also raised four loving children of whom she was quite proud; Evariste P. “Bill” of Three Rivers, Robert J. and ,Carol A. Lagimoniere both of Palmer and Jeannette M. Lareau of Ct, Mrs. Coache was a proud and devoted grandmother to 15, and great grandmother to 23. Mrs. Coache is also survived by a brother in law Frank Czech of Three Rivers and a sister in law, Irene Rebello of Brimfield as well as many nieces and nephews. She showered her grandchildren with love and handmade sweater sets, as well as many culinary treats, as she loved to cook. She was a member of Club 55 where her love for card playing flourished. Her yard was her quiet therapy, and her crossword puzzles kept her mind sharp. The Palmer Bookmobile also helped to keep her mind keen with new reading materials. Her spiritual nature kept her active at her church, St. Thomas the Apostle, for many years. In keeping with her devotion to the church, a funeral mass will be said on Tuesday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Church followed by burial in St. Anne’s Cemetery. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home by 9:00 a.m. Calling hours will be Monday, April 1, from 4:00—7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A LIFE APPRECIATION Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. The family requests that donations be made in her memory to either the Palmer Public Library Capital Fund Drive, 1485 N. Main St, Palmer, or to a Catholic Charity of one’s choice. "
