Obituary of Madeline A. MacKenzie

" Monson, Madeline A. (Jannard) MacKenzie, 80, of High St., died March 17, 2002 in Wing Memorial Hospital. Born in Palmer, MA on March 8, 1922, she was a resident of Monson for 29 years and previously has lived in Palmer. She was the daughter of the late Theodore & Mary (Deasy) Jannard. She was a graduate of Palmer High School, and had attended McKeon Business School in Hartford, CT. Madeline retired from Monson State Hospital in 1981 after working for 26 years as a charge attendant. She also worked at Aetna Insurance Company. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Monson, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and post president of the Palmer Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Monson Senior Center. Madeline was predeceased by her husband George W. MacKenzie, in 1980, and by a son George W.MacKenzie, II in 1973, also by a grandson George W. Nothe in 1982. She is survived by 3 daughters Marilyn Carlson of North Brookfield, Jayne Nothe & Michelle Huntington both of Monson. She leaves a sister L. Jayne Shuckerow of Ct, and a special cousin Kathleen Deasy of CT, also 7 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren.. A funeral service will be Wed. at 9:00am from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by a mass at 10:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church. Burial is in Four Corners Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Please make donations in her memory to either American Lung Association or to St. Patrick’s Church, Monson, MA 01057. "
