Obituary of Chester J. Godek

" Chester J. Godek, 87, of River St. in the Thorndike section, died Friday at his home. Born in Thorndike, June 14, 1914, he was the son of the late Karol and Victoria (Armata) Godek. He was a graduate of Palmer High School and the Bliss Electrical School in Washington DC. Chester was a communicant of Sts. Peter & Paul Church and, along with his wife, sang in the church choir for many years. He was also a member of St. Joseph’s Club. Chester worked as a master electrician for Diamond National for 42 years, retiring in 1976. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Frances Dranka, to whom he has been married for 51 years. He also leaves his godson and nephew Leslie Bonneville and his wife Susan (Krawczyk) Bonneville of Palmer. Funeral services will be Tuesday from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m. followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Burial is in St. Anne’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 2:00—4:00 & 7:00—9:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. Donations may be made in his memory to either Sts.
