Obituary of Carol Marie Drawec

"Carol M. (Brown) Drawec, 62, of N. Washington St. Died Wednesday in Mary Lane Hospital. Born in Ware, Dec. 27, 1939 she was the daughter of the late William T. and Marie H. (Valdrow) Brown. She was a graduate of Palmer High School Class o 1957 and lived in Palmer most of her life before moving to Belchertown two years ago. She was a member of the Palmer High School Band 1953-1957, Rainbow Girls Order #71, Operation Friendship, and Unit Chairman of Pioneer Valley Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Girl Scouts and received the Girl Scout Statuette for 35 years of service. She was a former member of the Second Baptist Church and served as the Superintendant of the Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of its Ladies Society, the choir and its Junior Choir Director. She was presently a 16 year member of the Second Congregational Church and a member of its Memorial Gift Committee. Carol worked for many years at the former Tampax, Inc. and the Three Rivers Outlet both in Three Rivers. She was also an aide and secretary to the principal in the Palmer Elementary Schools for 17 years. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, William J. Drawec, 2 sons John of Belchertown, Shawn of Three Rivers, and 2 daughters Carolyn Kokoski of Chicopee and Heidi Drawec of Three Rivers. She also leaves 5 grandchildren, Jason LaBrecque, Erin LaBrecque, Andrew Drawec, Kimberly Drawec and Jade Drawec. Carol also leaves 2 brothers William Brown of Monson, and Richard Brown of Bondsville and 2 sisters Marjorie Mancuso of Palmer and Jean Brodrick of Stafford Springs, CT, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday in the Second Congregational Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home from 2:00—4:00 & 7:00—9:00 p.m. Please make donations in her memory to Second Congregational Church Music Fund, 1080 Pleasant St, Palmer, 01069.
