Obituary of Walter L. Koslowski

"Brimfield, Walter L. Koslowski, 88, died Friday May 4, after a short illness. He was born February 7, 1919 in Hadley where he grew up. After serving 4 years in the U.S. Army he settled in Brimfield, MA where he made his life with his wife and three children. He worked for many years at the Palmer Wire & Rope Mill and later retired from the Town of Brimfield. Walter was a talented Stonemason and woodworker. His loves were his family, gardening and sports. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda (Calcagni) Koslowski, his sons Louis and his wife Jackie of Dudley, MA, William and his wife Linda of Brimfield, MA, and a daughter Maryann (Koslowski) Laverick and her husband Walter of Mt. Airy, MD, along with 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 7 at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., (Rte. 20) in Palmer, MA. Funeral services will begin Tuesday, May 8 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home with a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Christopher’s Church in Brimfield, MA. Burial with military honors will follow in Brimfield Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made in his memory to a foundation supporting Breast Cancer Research. "
