Peace, Love and Strength to Ed, Ted and Shawn. Diane was like a mom to me in the Early 70’s and was a great friend to my mom and dad throughout the decades. Her home was where I had my first sleepover, had my first taste of such things as Galumpkis, and Pierogi. I even leaned new cultural phrases like Dupa! :-) It was a great time in my life and I am thankful that Diane allowed Shawn and me to be good friends. Diane inspired her family and taught her sons to be compassionate, trustworthy people. She provided a loving, caring and strong family environment which she extended to her friends. I know that my Mom and Dad thought of Diane and Ed as family (as do I) because Diane and Ed were always there for them no matter what. She was a great friend and will be sorely missed. -Joe

Dear Ed and Family~ I am so very sorry to hear this news. Such a loss is never easy... my heart aches for you. My memories go to those 'first years'..we shared in the Downing 'highrise'... Diane and I would laugh ourselves silly... Such a wonderful person....wife, Mother...friend. Words at this loss...simply escape me. Somehow.....find comfort.... Sincerely, Martha Mathras Berger

I've never been good at knowing what to say during times of loss, but I do want to express my deepest sympathy. I've known Diane all my life and she was never anything, but very kind to me. When I was young she would take me places. She had a wonderful shine about her that my son was drawn to, too. She loved to shop. She always had a beatiful home and gardens.
