Obituary of Paul Nahabedian

"Palmer- Paul Nahabedian, 79, a lifelong resident of Palmer, died Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Holyoke Soldiers Home with his family at his side. Born in Palmer, July 13, 1927 he was the son of the late Richard and Nevarte (Emirkanian) Nahabedian. Paul served with the Army Air Force during WWII and was a graduate of the Medical Dept. Enlisted Technicians School. He later graduated from Western Massachusetts School of Pharmacy in 1952. He worked for 20 years as a pharmacist in the surrounding area. He later began a 19- year science teaching career at Palmer High School and retired in 1998. He was known to his students as Mr. “Naha”. Paul also coached the Palmer Rotary Little League Baseball team many years ago, and served as the high school’s golf team coach. Paul was a member of the Bethany Charismatic Catholic Church in Brimfield and in his leisure enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Quaboag Country Club. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 56 years Doris S. (Lenard) Nahabedian, two children Pauline Shumway and her husband Rev. Gregory Shumway, and Dennis P. Nahabedian all of Palmer, along with two grandchildren Danielle and Nicole Shumway and a great granddaughter Meghan Topor. He also leaves a sister Genevieve Aurise of E. Longmeadow. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday for 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethany Charismatic Catholic Church. A committal service will follow at 1:00 p.m at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N.
