Obituary of Douglas Lawrie

" Douglas Lawrie, Sr, 59, of Monson Turnpike Rd, died suddenly on Monday at Mary Lane Hospital. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, September 12, 1942 he lived in England before moving to Palmer in 1980 where he lived until moving to Ware last year. Mr. Lawrie had previously worked at Monson Developmental Center for 11 years. He also had previously served with the Parachute Regimen 1st Batallion of the British Army. Mr. Lawrie is survived by his wife of 39 years Elsie May (Ford) Lawrie, 2 sons, Douglas, Jr. of Palmer and Paul of Ware, 3 daughters Norma Frame of Brookville, Fl, Deborah Smith of Thorndike, and Janet Atkinson of England. He also leaves a brother Alister Lawrie of England and 2 sisters Norma Brodeur of Palmer and Dorothy Crossland of England. His 9 grandchildren are Toni Ford, Justin and Mark Brodeur, Joshua and Benjamin Lawrie, Samantha and Fred IV, and Megan Smith, and Rose Frame. The calling hours will be at the BEERS & STORY PALMER FUNERAL HOME on Friday evening from 7:00—9:00 p.m. only. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral Home with burial to follow in Oak Knoll Cemetery."
