Kris, I am reminded of the health struggles of your Dad, and your loving concern for him. I am so sorry that you and your family have lost such a remarkable Dad, and grandfather. I hope that the wonderful memories of his life will help give you, Peter and families peace.

It seems like only yesterday that you and Walt were ripping the six cylinder motor out of that old 74 brown and white Camaro and dropping in the 400!. There were many long nights in your backyard that summer? At least, and thanks to Walt, you had just about every tool imaginable to get the job done. I can honestly say, and I’m sure I speak for many of us old SH “boys”, Walt was one of the coolest dads in town. Listening to his stories and insight was pretty amazing. We had just as much fun hanging out with Walt in your backyard then we did going out on the town, and yes… thanks to your dad, go carts quickly became my hobby of choice at twelve years old! Cherish those memories, as I know you wil. Be thankful Walt had the opportunity to enjoy a full and great life with wonderful family and friends, and take care in knowing that your two sons had the inspiration of a great man. Sincerely Bob Bower Warrenton, VA

Dear Peter and Kris: We are deeply saddened by the death of your dad. He was a great guy and loved both of you deeply and was very proud of both of you. My husband, Ed, sat at his mother, Bernice Kusyk's home, for hours listening to your father's war stories and was amazed at all your father had endured. My husband was especially interested because of his interest in history. We both loved your dad very much. I, myself, had just spoken to him a while back and no matter what was occuring in his life he was always "happy and uplifting". I am sure he will be missed by everyone whose life he touched

Dear Peter and Kris, I would like to pass on to both of you and your families, my most heartfelt condolences. Your Dad was truly an exceptional man. Growing up in the neighborhood, he understood us kids. He was always willing to help and always had a kind word. He will truly be missed. Sincerely, Bob
