Obituary of Norris U. Demetrius

" Norris U. Demetrius, 70, of McBride Rd., died Wed. Sept. 12, 2001 at his home. Born in Springfield, MA, on June 18, 1931. He has lived in Wales for 30 years and previously lived in Brimfield for 15 years. He was a US ARMY Veteran. He worked for the Dept. of Defense at Westover Air Force base in Chicopee, in the ground maintenance dept. and as a mechanic, retiring in 1985 after 13 years. He operated Norrie’s Gulf Station in Brimfield for many years. Mr. Norris was also on the Board of Selectman in Brimfield. He is the son of Lorette (Pelletier) Demetrius of Brimfield and the late Norry L. Demetrius. Mr. Demetrius also leaves his wife Irene (Morin) Demetrius of 38 years. He is the loving Father of 2 daughters Christine Pourmand of Tewksbury, MA & Kimberly Bready of Wales as well as 2 sons Scott Demetrius of Wales & Dana Demetrius of Brimfield. He also leaves 2 sisters Alice Gomes of Ludlow, Shirley Clement of Campbellsville, KY, and 2 brothers Donald Demetrius of Port Charlotte, FL & Richard Demetrius of Brimfield, and 6 grandchildren & 1 great granddaughter. Funeral services will be Monday September 17 at 9:00am from the BEERS & STORY PALMER FUNERAL HOME, followed by a mass of Christian Liturgy at 10:00am in St. Christopher’s Church. Burial will follow in Wales #4 Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 2:00-6:00pm.
