Obituary of Gilbert V. Vieu

"Bondsville – Gilbert V. Vieu, 72, of Pine St., died April 16, 2007 at UMASS Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Springfield, MA on August 10, 1934, son of the late Gilbert and Mary (Blair) Vieu. Mr. Vieu has lived in Bondsville for four years and previously lived in West Greenwich, RI for 16 years. Gilbert retired in 1996 from Maise, Marshall and Meire Co. in Warwick, RI as a tool and die maker, previously he was a foreman at VanValkenburg Company in Chicopee. He was a former musician for 30 years and enjoyed going to Foxwoods, playing pool and fixing clocks. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Bernice (Bishop) Vieu and three children Steven Vieu of Bondsville, Keith Vieu and his wife Jackie of Coventry, RI and Cheryl Major and her husband Brian from Chicopee. He also leaves a sister Aurelia of Belchertown, four grandchildren Jamie Major, Eric Vieu, Jeremy Vieu and Keith Vieu, Jr. and nine great grandchildren. Service are private and Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Donations may be made in his memory to Quaboag Valley Hospice 42B Wright St., Palmer, MA 01069. "
