Where to start, I've watched Melissa grow from a beautiful little girl into an even more beautiful young lady. There isn't a person out there who met you that wouldn't remember you with a smile on your face. You were a beautiful daughter, sister, friend, and given the chance you were going to be an amazing mother. I will always remember you and how special you were. I will love you and miss you, Margaret

Whoa... On Easter Sunday i ran into the Cumbys in palmer to get some last minute stuff for dinner. soda and some whipped cream in a can. when i walked up to the register i recognized the cashier. i went to phs with her, but couldnt remember her name, we weren't really friends, i just knew her face from around school. she was poking at her belly and making funny faces so i asked her if she was ok... she replied " yea, im fine, just a little pregnant". being as gooey as i am about pregnant people, i wished her good luck and a happy easter..... this past sat (4/14) i was reading the paper at work and noticed a girl, my age had been killed in ware...being so close to palmer, i wondered if i knew her. i was saddened to hear she was happily expecting a child when it happened. i couldnt make a connection until this morning when my aunt from palmer called to ask me if i heard about the crash and if i knew the girl. as soon as she said the girl worked at cumberland farms in palmer, the name melissa rang a bell. i began to tell my aunt about how i had just ran into her and how it was all so sad. Im not sure what this means, but i just thought i would share it. As for the father of Dakota, and for all her family and friends, i am speechless. All i can say is time is the only thing to ease the pain. take care and bless

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Melissa was a great friend growing up. Hanging out on water street with the gang was the best. When Melissa joined our little group she made a great impact on us. We gew up together. We shared our loves, our fears and our friends. Being so far away now in Mississippi I wish there was more for me to do but I just want everyon to know that she was a wonderful friend. She gave all of us in the water street friends a part of who we are today. Melissa you were a wonderful girl and will be missed. Margaret, Kevin, Adam Britney, and Caitlin if you need anything I will do everything I can to help.

My heart goes out to you Margaret and everyone in the Lillis/Wellington family and I can not imagine the level of grief you are going through. It still has not sunk in to me that Melissa is gone. I have many memories of Melissa (Missy back then) growing up and I have a clear image of her smiling face. I still have the photo of her in that little red velvet dress when she was about 2 or 3 years old in my living room. Although our families grew apart and have not had much contact over the last 6 years (except through Margie and John), I always expected to have the option of visiting and catching up. I send my love to you all and to Melissa (& Dakota). I believe they are together and know how loved they both were. Always Love, Ruth (Goad) Dresser & Family

I knew Melissa through friends, the water street field during football season and she attended the Pathfinder Sr. Banquet with Megan where my daughter graduated from. I will remember a pleasant girl with a smile that glowed. Never did I see her mad, sad nor was she ever negative or rude. She truly would of been a one in a million mother. I offer my deepest sympathy Margret, to your family and Dakota's father. I believe Melissa touched more people in her life than anyone will ever know. Melissa's smile and warmth that radiated from her will always shine on those who knew her.

Our hearts are with all of you during this terrible time. We only knew Melissa because we have always considered Adam a part of our extended family. Through school and sporting events we got to know more of the family. Melissa was always smiling to say the least. I saw her as a huge help to Margaret as they came to all of Adam's activities. Such a supportive family. God bless you all.

I knew Melissa when she was a little girl and would visit her father on weekends. I remember her as a flower girl in my daughter's wedding when she was about 4years old and watching her grow-up. It was too bad she didn't keep in touch with her other family. My deepest sympathy to all her family. Virginia Siano, Julie's mom.

Living next door to Melissa for several years, we watched her grow from a little girl to a grown woman, full of confidence and ready to take on the world. Her love for her family was obvious and was always seen walking or playing with her younger brother and sisters. I always admired her for that. As she grew older, she still found time to spend with them despite school, work & friends. She always had a warm smile for you and would take a moment to say "Hi". Melissa touched every life that she came into contact with, she will be deeply missed. Kevin & Family, if there is anything we can do to help you through this tragedy, please let us know - we are here for you.

We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to Joe and all of Melissa's family. Joe you came into our lives when you were only 2 years old and have always been a very special grandson to us. Although we never met Melissa, your e-mails always mentioned how special she was to you. Melissa and Dakota are with the angels now, however, they will be forever in your hearts. We love you Joe.
