Obituary of Clifford Richard Gunther

" Clifford R. Gunther, 93,of Highland St, died Saturday, July 28, 2001 at Orchard Valley Assisted Living in Wilbraham, MA. Born in Hampden, MA September 10, 1907, he was the son of the late Apolonia (Jaster) and Theodore F. Gunther. Schooled in Hampden, he was a prominent dairy farmer in that town for many years, and also served on the town's Board of Selectmen for six years, and for a time was its chairman. In 1972 he retired as shipping supervisor at Yahn, Inc. in Springfield, MA. His wife, of nearly fifty years, the former Nancy Moran Mitchell Gunther died in 1994. Mr. Gunther leaves two step-daughters, Hope Mitchell Yahn of Monson, MA and Jean Mithcell Ramaker of South Glastonbury, CT , five grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning, July 31, at 11:00 a.m. at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home, with a calling hour preceding from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Hampden, MA.
