Obituary of Frank D. McLeish

" Frank D. McLeish, 80 of Cubles Drive, died Mon. at home. Born in Dundee, Scotland, he has lived in Brimfield since 1978. He was born July 19, 1921, and was the son of the late William and Isabella (Hagan) McLeish. He was an engineer with the former United Air Craft, now Pratt & Whitney in Windsor Locks, CT for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He had served with the Army Air Corp from 1942 – 1945, receiving the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was a member of the 22nd Bomb Group Assoc. He was also a communicant of St. Christopher’s Church in Brimfield and a member of the Brimfield Council on Aging, serving as its president for 8 years. He also served as a member of the Liberators Club and the Red Raiders. He was the Director of the Chordsmen Barber Shop Chorus in Ludlow and also sang with the Barber shop Quartet. the Ludlow Blendairs. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Pearl Cignoni. He leaves 4 sons, Bruce E. and Scott J. both of Brimfield, David H. of Springfield, and Brian W. of Sturbridge, and a daughter Susan M. Bissonnette of Wales. His sister, Helen Houle lives in Ludlow. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Thursday July 25. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home by 9:00 a.m. and we will process to St. Christopher’s Church for a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Brimfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. only at the BEERS & STORY PALMER FUNERAL HOME.
