Obituary of Joanne E. Rowland

"Joanne E. (Albert) Rowland, 59, of Town Farm Road was taken from us suddenly on Monday, April 2. Born in Springfield, August 18, 1947, she was the daughter of Aldore and Lucille Anne (Morin) Albert of Belchertown. Joanne grew up in Springfield and was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School. She achieved her associate’s degree in nursing from Springfield Technical Community College and worked for Baystate Medical Center for 35 years as a cardiac rehabilitation nurse. Besides her parents, she will be deeply missed by her husband of 37 years, Daniel M. Rowland, along with her two daughters Rebecca Rowland of Springfield and Sarah Rowland of Coventry, CT. She also leaves a brother Michael J. Albert of E. Longmeadow, four sisters Mary F. Albert of Florence, Sandra J. Zwirn of Berwick, ME, Karen A. Winkler of Springfield, and Susan L. Amaral of Ludlow, four loving brothers in law, and her mother in law Edith Rowland with whom she lived. She also leaves 12 loving nieces and nephews. Services will be Friday, April 6 at 9:00 a.m. from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., (Rte. 20) followed by a Libera Service at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Palmer. Calling hours are Thursday, April 5 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. The family requests that donations be made in her memory to Open Pantry Community Services, 287 State St., Springfield, 01105. "
