Obituary of Barbara J. Roy

"Palmer - Barbara J. (Steele) Roy, 86 , former longtime resident of Palmer passed away Tuesday in Springfield. She was the wife of Roland Roy, to whom she had been married since 1951. She attended St. Thomas Church. Barbara was born on March 10, 1932 in Quincy, daughter of the late Everett and Stephanie (Witek) Steele, and was a resident of Palmer for over 70 years. Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking. She loved to camp, especially at Oak Haven Campground in Wales with her husband and family. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and above all else, Barbara loved spending time with her family. In addition to her beloved husband, Roland, Barbara will be deeply missed by her children, Ronald Roy of Auburn, and Christine Coutu and her husband William of Palmer; cherished grandsons Daniel Roy and William Coutu; and great grandchildren D.J. and Annabelle.Visitation will be held on Friday, May 11 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 North Main Street.
