“Have faith, just keep going good things will come your way, sometimes god challenges us and we dont know why but you havent gotten all of the pieces to that puzzle yet so sit tight and keep being the good person i know you are, things will always turn around for the better if you have faith in yourself and the people who mean the most to you”. Carl wrote these words to me while he was deployed. He always believed God had a plan for all of us. Things were not always easy for him overseas, but he always took the time to be there for everyone back home. He was tough on the outside and rarely complained about the challenges he was facing (and there were many), but he was the most gentle, caring, selfless and thoughtful person once you got him to open up. Even though his life may have been short it was not short in experiences, he lived it to the fullest and accomplished so much at such a young age. He was mature beyond his years, but also a big kid at heart and had the best sense of humor, always joking around, always trying to make others smile. He remained positive and hopeful no matter how tough things got for him and he was an inspiration to anyone who crossed his path to keep going, never give up and be true to yourself. Once again, my deepest sympathy to Carl’s parents, Genie and RJ and all of his family and friends. He’s such a special person and will never be forgotten.

Carlton, RJ and Seth were joined at the hip growing up. They were always together. I feel like he grew up at my house as much as Seth grew up at theirs. He was always very respectful and quick to help with projects and had a great sense of humor. My heart goes out to all of you. He will be missed.

When Carlton and RJ got off the school bus in the afternoon they would often drop in at daycare to see Genie before continuing home. How excited she was to see her big brothers. And how they glowed at her joy in seeing them.

Carlton was in my fifth grade class. His enormous personality and smile lit up the classroom, even at that age. I adored his wise cracks and quick wit! He truly had a special personality. I was very sad to hear the news of his passing. My heart breaks for your family during this difficult time.
