Phyllis Chalue

Obituary of Phyllis "Sandi" Chalue

Phyllis "Sandi" Chalue, of 1 Willow Circle, Meadowbrook Park, Brimfield, has joined those members of her family who have previously relocated, in Heaven. The world is a much lesser place without her and even Heaven itself, is improved by her presence, there. Her work in this world is done and she is at rest.
Born in Ware on May 23rd, 1926, Phyllis was raised in the former Swift River Valley Town of Greenwich and she a graduate of that community's elementary school. Her personal recollections of life in the Swift River valley constituted a life-long love affair with that place and with the people there, who were her friends and neighbors. For all of her life, she kept alive that-now- long-ago place and those wonderful people.
Phyllis worked for many years in the dry-cleaning industry, as a presser.  In that capacity, she was previously employed by George's Cleaners and Capital Cleaners in Palmer; by Peerless Laundry in Monson and by Stacy's Cleaners in East Longmeadow. Prior to her "retirement", she also worked as a final inspector at the former Brimfield Precision Corporation, in Brimfield. Never one to sit idle for a very long, Phyllis followed that employment with several years of self-employment as a home cleaner. It is a gross under-statement, to say that she left little undone and even less, unsaid.
Irrespective of whatever else Phyllis was involved with during the greater part of her life, the primary focus of her attention, of her love, and of her devotion was -always- her three children.  It broke her heart and much of her spirit, when first her daughter- Joanne (Urban) Archambault- and then her youngest son - John J. Szanderowski, Jr. - pre-deceased her.
Phyllis is survived by her remaining son, Joseph W. Russell of Monson; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Beers and Story Funeral Home of Palmer has been entrusted with all services, which are private. There are no calling hours. Interment will be at Quabbin Park Cemetery, Ware, at the convenience of the family.
