Obituary of Suzanne Estes Baker

Suzanne (Sue) Estes Cameron Baker of Ware passed away March 23, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 15, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, to William and Grace (Sprague) Cameron. Suzanne grew up an avid equestrian, often riding and showing horses, where she met Ellsworth Baker, who later became her husband of 61 years. Suzanne attended Rollins College in Florida. A passionate animal lover, Sue lived in Ware from 1958 to 2019, where she nurtured the many farm animals in her care and raised her family. Suzanne worked at Old Sturbridge Village, drove school busses, delivered Meals on Wheels in Palmer and was the co-owner of Tri Town Car Rentals in Palmer. Suzanne was a member of the Second Congregational Church of Palmer, where she was head of the Sunday School. Suzanne spent many summers at her family cottage on a lake in Northern Wisconsin, and later enjoyed summers camping in Lake Bomoseen, Vermont. In her leisure, Suzanne enjoyed playing card games with her friends, listening to music, and watching game shows. She is survived by her beloved husband Ellsworth and four children: Joshua Baker and wife Christine of Salida, Colorado; Helen Fox and husband Robert of Cape Coral, Florida; Elizabeth Baker of North Adams; and Martha Wilson and husband Matthew of Dunbarton, New Hampshire. She will be missed by four grandchildren, Stephanie, Erica, Bridget and Timothy and great grandson Benjamin. She is predeceased by her brothers John T. Cameron and William S. Cameron. Services will be held at the family's discretion.
