Obituary of Rita B. Brodeur

Rita B. "Memere" Brodeur, 96, of Wilbraham, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2020 at Vero Health & Rehab of Wilbraham. Daughter of the late Joseph and Georgiana (Gagnon) Ouimet, she was born in New Bedford, MA on May 13, 1924. Rita was a wonderful homemaker also was a housekeeper at St. Thomas in Palmer, MA as well as St. Anne's in Three Rivers. She was devout Catholic, always praying and attending Mass. Rita will be missed by all who knew her, including her loving children Richard Brodeur and wife Karen of Florida, Jeanne Moynahan and husband Walter of Belchertwon, Rene Brodeur of Palmer, Louis Brodeur and Gloria of Three Rivers, Lorraine Spelko and husband Frank of Palmer, and Raymond Brodeur and Maureen of Three Rivers; her 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and her very dear friend, Kathy Perry; as well as many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Rao Brodeur, her son Ronald Brodeur, and three siblings, Claire, Leo, and George. The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff at Vero for their compassionate care during Rita's stay. Services for Rita and her son, Ronald, will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2020 beginning at 10 am in Divine Mercy Parish, 2267 Main Street, Three Rivers, MA 01080. Rites of Commital and interment to follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, 121 East Main Street, Three Rivers, MA 01080.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Divine Mercy Parish, 2267 Main St, Three Rivers, MA 01080, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family would like to thank all those who have reached out with their comforting words and prayers during this time of loss.
