Obituary of Marcel F. Archambault

Belchertown- Marcel F. Archambault, 92, passed away on June 3, 2020.  Born on Feb. 13, 1928, in Chicopee, he was the son of the late Oliva and Rose-Eva (Denoncourt) Archambault, and lived in Chicopee, Springfield and Granby before moving to the home he built in Belchertown over 40 years ago.  Marcel worked in construction and later as roof design and sales engineer for Truss Engineering in Springfield for 30 years before his retirement.  He graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield.

Marcel was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was a "backyard farmer" who enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.  Most significantly, Marcel was an avid follower of local politics, and knew, on a personal level, many local politicians.  He enjoyed spending time with his children and cherished grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family. He is survived by his children Donna Buxton and her husband Wayne, of Belchertown, Ronald Archambault and his wife Brenda, of Granby, his four grandchildren Eric, Angela, Valerie and Cheryl, their spouses, his five great grandchildren, Matthew, Drew, Benjamin, Ryan and Nora, a brother Roger Archambault of Springfield, sister-in-laws, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by stepchildren Wayne, Merrie, and Allen, grandchildren Candace, Angie, Eryn, Neal Cory, their spouses and several great grandchildren, most living in California and Florida.  He was predeceased by his first wife, Lorraine (Blanchette) Archambault, and his second wife, Jeanne Paradise, a son, Marc Archambault, and brothers, Henry & Maurice Archambault.

Due to the current situation calling hours are omitted but a Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church.  Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley.  A Celebration of Life will also be held at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Town of Belchertown, for the Belchertown Senior Center, 60 State Street, Belchertown, MA 01007.
