Obituary of Lorraine M. Demers

Lorraine M. (Bernache) Demers, 88, of S. Hadley, MA passed away June 6, 2020 with her family by her side.   She was born on June 18, 1931 in Chicopee, MA to Emery and Robina (Faucher) Bernache.  Lorraine lived in Chicopee for many years, before moving to S. Hadley in 1952.  She was a communicant of St. Patrick Church. She graduated from Doerr Academy of Cosmetology and worked many years as a hairdresser and later worked as a hostess for Food Ventors at Ampad in Holyoke, as well as for Hannoush Jewelers.  Lorraine enjoyed working in her flower garden, sewing, traveling and going out to eat.   She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Claude Demers of S. Hadley, her two sons, David Martin of Houston, TX and Daniel Martin of Granby, MA.   She also leaves her precious granddaughter, Taryn Martin of TX, a niece, Sr. Mary Lou Gillon, Srs of St. Joseph, in-laws, Robert & Josephine Demers of San Diego CA and Robert & Claire (Demers) Hughes of Belchertown. She was predeceased by her first husband Herman J. Martin in 1975 as well as her siblings, Lena Gillion, Leo and Emil Bernache.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
