Obituary of Stella S. Wilhelmi

Granby-Stella Sophia (Benerakis) Wilhelmi born in Springfield July 15, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph & Sophia (Mucha) Benerakis, entered eternal life peacefully Aug. 18 surrounded by her loving family.  She adored her three grandchildren; Michael Winters of Granby, Teresa Winters Tobin & Todd Tobin of South Hadley and Sara Winters of Austin, TX and her three great granddaughters; Rachel Dunn, Eleanor & Sophie Tobin.

Her smile and laughter will be greatly missed by all her family including her favorite sister-in-law Judith Benerakis of Feeding Hills, and all her nieces and nephews.  She loved you all and often said “how did I get so old?”

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arnold, and her brothers James, William, Antonio and Thomas.  Always happy, she found joy everywhere, in music, singing, dancing and drawing, but most of all in her family.  Many thanks to the folks at Granby Sr. Center where she spent many happy hours.

There will be a graveside service for family & friends on Monday Aug. 24 at 11:30 in Forestdale Cemetery, 304 Cabot St, Holyoke.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 319 Granby Rd. So. Hadley 01075 or Granby Sr. Center, 10 W State St, Granby, MA 01033. Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home entrusted with Stella’s arrangements.
